Since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act lowered business taxes, 30,300 jobs have been created in Washington. Other companies have raised wages and increased investment throughout the state. HomeStreet, Inc increased its base wage to $15 per hour. Inland Northwest Bank increased its base wage to $15 an hour and gave $500 bonuses to each of its 200 employees. Alaska Air Group gave bonuses of $1,000 to 23,000 employees. These benefits could be even greater if made permanent or they could disappear if the tax cuts are repealed.
