Since the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act lowered business taxes, 40,900 jobs have been created in New York. Other companies have raised wages and increased investment throughout the state. Dayton T. Brown Inc. gave 400 bonuses to each of its 210 employees. JetBlue gave $1,000 bonuses to all 21,000 of its crewmembers. M&T Bank announced $25 million in new investment and gives employees 40 hours of paid time for volunteering. These benefits could be even greater if made permanent or they could disappear if the tax cuts are repealed.
